German Cloud Provider IONOS Secures Major School Cloud Contract
IONOS wins EUR 67.5 million contract to provide Nextcloud-based platform for six German states.
The contract, procured by govdigital eG, will deploy IONOS Nextcloud Workspace in Berlin, Bremen, Hamburg, Hesse, North Rhine-Westphalia, and Rhineland-Palatinate.
The platform aims to support digital collaboration in schools, reducing fragmentation between separate digital systems used by educational institutions.
Running exclusively in German data centers, the initiative underscores Germany’s push for digital sovereignty in public institutions.
