Six German States Enable Schools to Access Nextcloud
A new framework agreement between govdigital eG and IONOS provides Nextcloud-based cloud solutions for schools in six German states.
The agreement, lasting four years, offers a Nextcloud-based cloud solution to educational institutions in Berlin, Bremen, Hamburg, Hessen, North Rhine-Westphalia, and Rhineland-Palatinate, with other states able to join.
IONOS Nextcloud Workspace combines features for file storage, document collaboration, and digital communication, with the infrastructure operated in German data centers.
The initiative aims to give public schools greater control over their data and reduce reliance on proprietary platforms, fostering familiarity with open-source solutions among students.
